Shame, Shame on all of you Canadians who don’t know your history. I guess with all these ignorant comments racism will never end. Here a little quote from my people: Before the white man came there were no taxes and our country was not in debit. We learned ownership from Europeans. If I could turn back time you could have your metal kettles, your plastic beads, your taxes, your eye glasses, your diseases, your plastic status cards, and your treaties, as long as your return to your homeland.

I hope your children are never ripped from your arms, beaten if they are crying, beaten because they are speaking english, beaten if they say the lord’s prayer, and told that daddy is evil.

Ps. the Indian Act states that First Nation people are wards of the crown. The Government want First Nations to be depended on them .

I really get tried of people picking on who get so little. The guys who are having $100. lunches on your taxes must be laughing: remember the sentor who had a bill of $5000.00 day. He must love you.

I agree w Christie Blatchford: journalists need to stop this snivelling, cry-baby bullshit about Layton being dead; he didn’t accomplish fuck all for the country; he’s no Tommy Douglas or Norman Bethune; he emulated them but that’s not the same; journalists are letting their emotion run their “professional detachment”, as Blatchford wrote, because Layton was always playing friendly-friendly w the reporters; you need to be a little more objective than that…

And no, I’m not a right-winger… I just believe in applying critical thinking equally to everyone!

Why does everyone chuckle when the subject of marijuana is brought up? Grown men and women act like teenagers whenever the topic of drugs comes up – what’s so funny? If someone were to start laughing or equivocating whenever alcohol, cigarettes, or coffee was brought up, people would think they were immature, or worse. I think Layton needs to grow up too and walk the talk, so to speak.

It’s funny that you call your website canuck politics. Let’s recap. First of all we have an ex-prime minister with a hidden agenda who was fired for non-confidence running an election he called during hockey playoffs so you know we don’t give a rat’s tail about politics while the puck is no the ice. An he is running against another candidate with a hidden agenda that tracks him to the states, the colors here are blue and red bi-partisan just hockey or like the parties in the states. This is like a final between the habs and the hab-mores! Politics is like hockey. There are two teams battling it out for the puck, and I mean competitively, while the rest of Canada, including parties who care about people and human rights sit in the bleachers watching. The thing you forget Mr. Harper and Mr. Ignatieff and your “financial backers” “coaches” and “team mates” is that the puck belongs to all Canadian citizens and the game belongs to us. So, you’re both “offside!” – 2 elections for fighting. Do you think that there is anyone in this world that can learn to work together? This political sport, if you want to call it that, is making me sick. I hope this goes into overtime and they have to form a coalition. It would do them good to try to get along. And don’t ask me the score. I couldn’t tell you.

Don’t be fooled by Harper’s gesture to make amends for an atrocious part of Canada’s history. If he cared about Canadian Aboriginals he would not have canceled the Kelowna Accord which would have been of great benefit. He has done nothing for the First Nations other than to give a token apology.

A likely scenario is emerging should the results of this election produce another Conservative minority parliament:

Micheal Ignatieff will resign in disgrace. Nothing short of a Liberal minority will prevent this from happening.

As Ignateiff exits the Liberal Party, so does his promise against forming a coalition government. The freshly elected Liberal MPs will find themselves out of power, and not particularly inclined to remain bound by their former leader’s foolish promises.

With a headless Liberal Party, Jack Layton will emerge as the coalition’s best option for Prime Minister. He already is far ahead on perceptions of trust, leadership and vision.

Unlike Michael Ignatieff and Stephane Dion before him, Jack Layton has not ruled out a coalition government — in fact this video shows Layton explicitly running to become Prime Minister of a coalition government in the event Harper is returned with another minority.

The possible scenario? When Ignatieff steps down as leader of the Liberal Party, Jack Layton will step up to lead an NDP-Liberal-Bloc government.

This may have been Jack Layton’s plan for some time. Layton more than anyone drove events toward an election, and he appears to have some sympathetic allies in the Liberal left-wing such as Bob Rae, who himself has coalition experience in the NDP party.

Prime Minister Jack Layton, anyone?

What is wrong with these people. Canadians may be spread out across a vast landscape and posses many petty regionalisms, but we are all still one nation. (Québec is another nation, but Ièll discuss this later)

This guys speaks with such divisiveness… like Canadians in the “West” are foreign to those of the “East” and posses no virtues.

With the exception of Québec, regionalism is idiotic. We can relate to each other more than to any other nation, so why must we squabble like children?
